2022-23 ROCKETS COACHING STAFF ANNOUNCED
Head Coach – Jolene Leger
New to the position, Jolene brings a wealth of knowledge both on and off the ice. She played university hockey with the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues from 2005-2007 when they won their first ever AUS Championship and competed at the USport National Championship tournament. Familiar with leadership positions both in hockey and in her professional life, she looks forward to helping develop strong players as well as strong leaders within the Rockets program. Jolene is excited to start this next chapter in her hockey career and looks forward to working alongside the experienced coaches that will join her behind the bench.
Assistant Coach – Gilles Caissie
Gilles is joining our staff after a long hockey coaching career that saw him achieve success on both the male and the female sides of the game. He coached several teams to league and provincial championships over the years and helped shape great players along the way. More recently, Gilles was part of the coaching staff of the first HNB U15AAA Female team to capture the U15AAA Atlantic Championship back in 2019. He is eager to bring this experience to the Rockets program. Gilles will also play an active role in mentoring the current Head Coach and we know he will help bring fresh ideas and a new edge to the Rockets game.
Assistant Coach – Darren Gallen
Darren is a returning coach with the Rockets program and brings with him invaluable knowledge and experience coaching AAA female hockey. In fact, he has been a part of the HNB High Performance program including the Rockets Program since 2012 at both the U15 and U18 levels. He was also part of the Southeast Female Hockey Association (SEFHA) that started in 2015 and helped bring all female hockey teams to Southern NB. He is looking forward to working with the new coaching staff to develop Rockets players and showcase their skills to the university and college levels.
Trainer/Conditioning Coach – Julia Steeves
Julia will also be returning this year to help the Rockets with their physical conditioning and training. Her work is vital to ensure our players are ready to go each and every time they step onto the ice. Julia has been a part of the Rockets family since 2019 season and is a Rocket Alumni herself. She is not only a physiotherapist in Moncton, she is also a current member of the HNB High Performance program and has also completed her Canadian Certified Sport Physiotherapist program which included a series of exams and over 200 hours of bench work with a High-Performance program.
